p:anorig is FT’s new concept show reinventing his techno live act and effectively bringing it to the next level. Imagine p:anorig as an artistic installation: the result of a collective effort of music, light, and architecture/interior design, speaking the language of minimalism.
Through the object, the music fulfills the composition; the dance floor completes the cycle.
Hybrid electronic and classical music pioneer Francesco Tristano redefines stage design forhis music.
The rig will hold Francesco’s keyboards and live gear and is the centre piece of the stage.
Designed and produced in Barcelona by Villablanch, a leading interior design studio and important point of reference over the past 15 years, the rig is a portable structure inspired by the shape of the body of a grand piano. Has been widely featured in the media, receiving honours and participating in conferences.
Comprising of new productions displaying Francesco’s live keyboard skills, the music
breathes in tune with the structure that it holds. p:anorig also has its own rhythm and
calls for interaction with the space: space: Derrick May is featured here as guest artist as a rare
live performance.
Francesco Tristano is the reference in a new movement, which is ignoring borders of the electronic and classical music scenes. As a composer, producer, pianist and electronic live act he has worked with some of the most respected artists such as Luciano, Derrick May, Carl Craig, Moritz von Oswald, Murcof, as well as the Russian National Orchestra, the Deutsche Symphonie Orchester Berlin, and has numerous albums released of his own music and Bach interpretations.
Derrick May, also known as Mayday, Rhythm is Rhythm and The Innovator, was born in Belleville, Michigan, and is credited for being one of the creators of techno. His label Transmat is celebrating thirty years.
Conceived by BCN based Mau Morgó and following the essence of techno, the lighting show will chase its premises: simplicity, minimalism and the powerful rhythm. The lighting display will help the viewer enter in a evolving experience, enhancing the feelings and excitement of the show. The light setup will be a very simple but visually powerful composition, surrounding the outbound and interacting with the p:anorig, creating a cinematic look and connecting conceptually with a zoetrope.
